Art Gratis Ceide Headdress 7
An example of a headdress of the Ceide Clan as imagined by our in-house artists - admittedly after some dubious research and the consumtion of copious amounts of surprisingly legal substances. Nevertheless, the people of the day [this part is fact, so pay attention] did actually construct what archeologists believe may have been earth's first city on the west coast of Ireland in County Mayo, 2000 years before the pyramids and Pharaoh Khufu saw the light of day. Having established this fact, we can now return to the land of makebelieve.Their headdresses were 'said to be' adorned with small animal carcasses, dried maggots, insects & fruits and an abundance of gemstones. As they worshipped no gods and survived and prospered solely on instinct, it is suggested that the trinkets in their headdresses represented seminal moments and events in their lives or perhaps were worn as a form of homage to mother earth, or both. In any case, we think they'd give a number of high street milliners a run for their money, not to mention, A Flock Of Seagulls :)
